Band track requires more than the traditional ways of maintaining tension.
Our multi-stage tensioners are self-contained, robust and easy to integrate. They ensure acceptable levels of track tension under all conditions.
The tensioner takes up slack in the track produced by suspension jounce and tractive effort. This minimizes the risk of de-tracking or drive slippage.
As slack is removed from the track, the tensioner produces a gradually increasing force until it reaches its nominal position. Here the tensioner produces rapidly increasing forces to resist the maximum expected tractive effort without undue motion.
Should substantial debris become entrained between the track and related components, our tensioner will over-travel and collapse under a relatively low force to prevent over-tensioning of the track. Once the debris is ejected, the tensioner will return to its nominal position and resume normal operation.
